If you want to know make your ex boyfriend text you back, then you better read this post before you send another text message, because the more you text, the more likely it is that you’ll be ruining your chances with him.
But let’s a few things straight first. Ultimately, if your ex boyfriend is ignoring your text messages, it’s likely for a reason.
And to get him to look past this reason, you’re going to have to do more than just bug him incessantly about it. So first thing’s first; if you know that your ex boyfriend isn’t texting you back, then for now, stop texting him.
You heard me. As strange as that sounds, the best way to get him to text you back is to first not text him for awhile.
It could be a few days. It could be a couple of weeks. But it’s crucial that for now, you completely forget about him and stop contacting him.
Why It’s Better to Ignore Him for Awhile
Why, you ask? Well, men think much differently than women do (surprise, surprise!), and men hate it when they’re being pressured to do something that they really don’t want to do.
I know, you’re probably thinking that you hate being pressured, too, but when a girl constantly harasses a guy to respond, it is a massive turn off. In fact, it’s one of the biggest turn-offs for a guy.
Some people call it “being clingy” and some guys who are fed up of it call it “psychotic.” The bottom of the line is, showing that you care too much at the wrong time is probably the reason why he isn’t contacting you right now.
Re-evaluate after 29 Days
So how long do you need to wait before you can successfully contact him? Well, every case is different, but it’s psychologically proven that the 29 day mark is when the male mind begins to get “lonely” from a particular female absence. So does that mean you have to wait that long? It doesn’t — but the longer you wait, the better chances you’ll have of him texting you back.
That’s right. It’s a weird a little strange to think about it this way, but the more and more you try and incite a response in him now, the less likely he is to reply to you at all.And if you do it enough, you’ll drive him away permanently.
Okay, so you get that you can’t text him right now. Let’s say you do wait the full duration and you decide to text him. What then? What do you say?
Texting with a Purpose
Well, first of all, we have to set up ground rules. You must not bring up anything negative in the past about your relationship. This will for sure cause him to ignore you even longer.
Second, you must not bring up anything negative in general! Your text has to be short, positive, and you have to text him for a very good reason. That means you simply can’t text him saying, “hey” or “what’s up?”
Those are what I like to call Empty Text Messages. They don’t provoke any sort of emotional response. And they definitely don’t compel your ex boyfriend to respond at all. So what kind of text message should you send? Ask him a simple question like:
Hey! Do you remember the name of that band we were going to see in March?
This text is great for a number of reasons. First, it comes off as friendly. It’s short. It has all the ingredients of a good first message and it should get you a response.
But how can you get him to agree to meet up with you (and maybe eventually take him back)? Well, it’s actually pretty straightforward with the right advice. But that’s for another article!
